Hello, nice to meet you!
I’m Tanaka and I teach Go (“igo” in Japanese) online and in local community centers.
I hope that through my lessons here, I can help many people enjoy Go as a hobby. It can be a great way for you to have fun in-between your language lessons, and it can also be a fun way to train your brain.
Even if you’ve never encountered Go before in your life, it's no problem! We will start with the very small 9x9 game board, which is about 1/4 of the standard size.
I particularly recommend these Go to people who haven’t chanced upon a great hobby yet, or people who have some free time but haven’t figured out what they want to do with it yet.
Please don’t hesitate to book a lesson!
I accept lesson requests from 12 hours to 2 weeks in advance. You can also feel free to contact me when I’m online.
*Sorry, I only give lessons in Japanese!
*During the lessons, we be playing the game on a website called “igo kids” http://online-go.com/If you register (just a username and password is fine) beforehand, the lesson will go more smoothly.
You might get a java warning, but it shouldn’t be a problem. Please give java permission and enter the site.
After that I will give you instructions via Skype.
*If you can’t use java or have other concerns about igo kids, we can also use http://online-go.com/
Please take a look and let me know which one you prefer to use.
